Jane is a banking and finance partner, specialising in corporate finance, leveraged finance, and debt restructuring and insolvency processes. Jane partners with clients to navigate complex financing and restructuring challenges, delivering practical, innovative solutions that achieve commercial outcomes.

Jane advises domestic and international lenders, corporate borrowers and insolvency practitioners on a wide range of finance transactions (including corporate, acquisition and property finance transactions).  She is recognised for her specialist knowledge of syndicated and club lending structures, as well as leveraged finance, and is highly regarded for her leadership in navigating complex restructuring and insolvency matters.

Jane brings a unique perspective to her practice, having served as first in-house counsel and later in a loan execution role for a major New Zealand trading bank. In these roles, she was responsible for structuring and arranging loans across the institutional and corporate loan book, including Sustainability-Linked Loans. Prior to joining Mayne Wetherell, Jane was head of the bank’s Syndications and Agency business.

Jane’s restructuring expertise was shaped during the Global Financial Crisis, with a particular interest in the PPSA, priority disputes and voluntary administrations. Jane has played a pivotal role in landmark New Zealand restructurings, including the country’s first major voluntary administration and the implementation of the first going concern deed of company arrangement.
