Jane is a banking and finance partner, specialising in corporate finance, leveraged finance, and debt restructuring and insolvency processes. Jane partners with clients to navigate complex financing and restructuring challenges, delivering practical, innovative solutions that achieve commercial outcomes.
Jane advises domestic and international lenders, corporate borrowers and insolvency practitioners on a wide range of finance transactions (including corporate, acquisition and property finance transactions). She is recognised for her specialist knowledge of syndicated and club lending structures, as well as leveraged finance, and is highly regarded for her leadership in navigating complex restructuring and insolvency matters.
Jane brings a unique perspective to her practice, having served as first in-house counsel and later in a loan execution role for a major New Zealand trading bank. In these roles, she was responsible for structuring and arranging loans across the institutional and corporate loan book, including Sustainability-Linked Loans. Prior to joining Mayne Wetherell, Jane was head of the bank’s Syndications and Agency business.
Jane’s restructuring expertise was shaped during the Global Financial Crisis, with a particular interest in the PPSA, priority disputes and voluntary administrations. Jane has played a pivotal role in landmark New Zealand restructurings, including the country’s first major voluntary administration and the implementation of the first going concern deed of company arrangement.

Advised the senior lenders to two solarZero securitisation trusts following the commencement of liquidation of solarZero (energy).
Advised The Rohatyn Group on its acquisition of a majority interest in the Matariki Forests estate from Rayonier (forestry).
Advised Fortifi Food Processing Solutions (Bettcher Industries) on its acquisition by scheme of arrangement of NZX-listed MHM Automation (manufacturing).
Advised Florenz on its proposed scheme of arrangement with Comvita (health products).
Advised the financiers in relation to the management buy-out of NPD (retail and consumer).
Advised security trustee of the senior secured creditor in respect of the voluntary administration of Sara Lee (food).
Advised the directors of Brothers Beer in respect of its voluntary administration and proposing a deed of company arrangement (beverages).
Advised Bank of New Zealand in respect of facilities it made available to Whakatane Mill for the purpose of providing financial capacity to shift to recyclable and biodegradable solutions, as well as enabling the plant to establish new capacity (manufacturing).
