Daniel is an experienced banking and finance lawyer, with a focus on structured finance, securitisation, private credit, leveraged and acquisition finance and advising offshore financial institutions. He brings a solutions-based approach to managing transactions and complex legal situations.
Daniel has significant experience on complex and transaction critical financing particularly in the financial services sector. He regularly advises offshore financiers and has experience managing and advising on complex multi-jurisdictional transactions, bringing oveseas expertise gained at Linklaters.
Daniel is highly-regarded for his transaction management and ability to understand the drivers of a client’s business, managing complex situations and resolving issues and closing transactions to ensuring that client’s needs are met in a pragmatic and results-focused way.

Advised Arteva Funding (Pemba Capital Partners) in relation to the implementation of securitisation warehouse finance to Arteva in New Zealand to support the acquisition of Hunter Premium Funding in New Zealand by Arteva in 2025 (financial services).
Advised Goldman Sachs in relation to the provision of a NZ$300m senior warehouse funding facility provided to Vincent Capital, an Auckland-based property finance company specialising in funding for builders and developers (property).
Advised Bank of New Zealand in relation to the provision of senior warehouse funding to Pepper Money in relation to its acquisition of HSBC NZ’s residential mortgage portfolio in 2023 (financial services).
Advised the financiers to SG Fleet Group, the ASX-listed fleet leasing provider, to enable its acquisition of LeasePlan New Zealand (transport).
Advised Macquarie Group in relation to its NZ$220 million acquisition and financing of the long-term concession to operate SkyCity’s Auckland car parks (transport).
Advised New Zealand and offshore financiers in relation to the provision of stapled securitisation warehouse finance to UDC to support the acquisition of UDC by Shinsei in 2020 as well as subsequent warehouse financing since that date (financial services).
Advised Indi in respect of the establishment of its prime mortgage warehouse financing (financial services).
Advised Latitude Financial Services on the establishment of its New Zealand Credit Card Master Trust securitisation programme and its on-going funding programmes in New Zealand (financial services).
Advised KKR, Värde Partners and Deutsche Bank on its acquisition and financing of GE Capital’s A$8bn consumer finance business (financial services).
