Chris is an experienced senior associate with significant experience advising domestic and offshore clients across the full spectrum of banking and finance matters.
Chris is recognised for his expertise advising on public and private M&A financing, securitisation and structured finance across a range of asset classes and on retail and wholesale bond issuances in the domestic and offshore debt capital markets. He is known for delivering clear, commercially focussed advice and for his collaborative approach in driving transactions to completion.
Chris acts for a broad range of clients including several large NZX‑listed institutional borrowers, domestic and international banks and credit funds, private equity sponsors and other financial institutions in the banking and finance ecosystem.
Chris complements his broad transactional practice by providing financial regulation expertise to domestic and offshore clients, with a particular focus on the regulation of consumer credit and financial service providers in New Zealand.

Advised Arteva Funding (Pemba Capital Partners) in relation to the implementation of securitisation warehouse finance to Arteva in New Zealand to support the acquisition of Hunter Premium Funding in New Zealand by Arteva in 2025 (financial services).
Advised Pemba Capital Partners in relation to its acquisition of Hunter Premium Funding from Allianz (financial services).
Advised Merricks Capital on a range of its property finance transactions in New Zealand, including financing for commercial property, residential developments and agriculture businesses (property).
