Acted for ANZ National Bank Limited, Bank of New Zealand and Westpac Banking Corporation as joint lead arrangers and senior financiers in relation to the refinancing of PGG Wrightson Limited’s financing arrangements.
PGG Wrightson investment in Silver Fern Farms
Mayne Wetherell acted for ANZ National Bank Limited and Westpac Banking Corporation (as joint lead arrangers) together with Bank of New Zealand, BOS International (Australia) Limited, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (as senior financiers) in connection with the proposed acquisition by PGG Wrightson Limited of a 50% stake in Silver Fern Farms Limited.
Acquistion of NZ Poultry Holdings (Tegel Foods)
Mayne Wetherell acted for ANZ National Bank Limited, BOS International (Australia) Limited and Westpac Banking Corporation as senior financiers in connection with the acquisition by Pacific Equity Partners and ANZ Capital of NZ Poultry Holdings (Tegel Foods). The transaction completed in February 2008.
Acquisition of Independent Liquor
Mayne Wetherell acted, together with Allens Arthur Robinson, for ANZ and Barclays Bank as arrangers and financiers in relation to the acquisition by PEP and CCMP of Independent Liquor for a purchase price exceeding NZ$1.2 billion. The transaction completed in January 2007.
Waste Management amalgamation with Transpacific
Mayne Wetherell acted, together with Mallesons Stephen Jaques, as advisor to Transpacific's financiers, National Australia Bank Limited and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, in connection with the funding package provided to Transpacific for the purpose of completing the amalgamation of Transpacific and Waste Management New Zealand Limited. The amalgamation took effect on 3 July 2006.
Restructuring of Fisher & Paykel securitisation programme
Mayne Wetherell recently acted for ANZ Investment Bank in relation to the restructuring of Fisher & Paykel Financial Services Limited's master trust asset-backed securitisation programme. The $400 million commercial paper programme funds a revolving pool of credit card and hire purchase receivables originated by Retail Financial Services Limited.
Manassen Group acquisition financing
Mayne Wetherell acted as New Zealand counsel to Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited and Westpac Banking Corporation as financiers in connection with the acquisition by CHAMP of the Australasian food businesses comprising the Manassen Group. The transaction completed in May 2006.
Powerco listed guaranteed bond issue
Powerco Limited, one of New Zealand's leading energy distribution companies, completed a listed bond issued guaranteed by XL Capital Assurance Inc.. Mayne Wetherell acted for the joint lead managers for the offer, ANZ Investment Bank and Westpac Institutional Bank. |
